Birthday Card

I coloured in this Elisabeth Bell image using my prismacolor pencils.  I am really happy with how it turned out.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Sketch # 146 at  Friday Sketchers

Finally Friday

Every friday a different member of the Scraptures Team post a challenge which includes a sketch and a layout or card they completed using the sketch as inspiration.  Today is my turn, check it out here.

This is the sketch I used from the Oct. 2008 archives of pagemaps.

This is the layout I created using the wonderful March Scraptures Kit (contents seen here)

The colours of the Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 paper went perfectly with my daughter's skating costume for her end of year preformance. I painted around the edges of some of the papers with the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam, added some of the buttons to the title and the crystal flower was the perfect final touch.

Here is a close up of the Crystal Corner Floral and you can also see where I painted around the edge of the paper using the Tattered Angels Golden Goddess Glitter Glam, it adds a subtle sparkle, which is perfect for this layout of my daughter skating.

Challenges x 2 - Stars and Organization

This week I have been working on genealogy research so I haven't spent a lot of time crafting.  Bailey had a birthday party to go to so I made a card for her friend using the Rio image from Simply Betty and I am entering the card in the Stars Challenge at the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog.

Christa over at Scraptures posted an Organizational Challenge where we are to take a picture of our most organized and our most unorganized spots in our scraprooms.  Since my room is such a mess right now I don't have an organized spot right now but here is a picture of my most unorganized spot which I hope to have nicely organized soon.  Check out the other great Scraptures challenges here.

Layout Challenge

As guest designer for Scraptures one of my fun jobs is to post a challenge on their forums.  The challenge I came up with is called Glam it Up and you can check it out on the Scraptures forum.

On my layout below I used the glimmer glam in two different spots.  I painted the bottom half of both pages with it and I painted the back of one of the glimmer glass tabs with two coats of glimmer glam then once they were dry I put a coat of red paint on top.  I really like the affect that gave me. I also embellished with some of the buttons and the stickles that come in the kit.

Reveal Day is Finally Here

Here is what I created as a guest designer for the reveal with Scraptures March Scrapbooking kit.

I got out the glimmer glam that came in the kit, in fact I think I used it on almost all my layouts with this kit, it is a great product.  First I dry brushed (very little paint on your brush) some glam on to the smaller piece of pattern paper after I punched an edge on it.  This gives the paper a slight sheen and a little glimmer but isn’t over powering.  I also painted the edge of the paper embellishment in the upper left corner before putting it down and I painted a piece of black cardstock to go behind the bliss glimmer glass which gives it a nice pop.  Finally I added glimmer glam to the edges of the flower petals which gives them a natural highlight with a bit of sparkle.  I used my stickles to make my own bling around the flower.

Here is the layout I created using Scraptures March Scrapbooking kit and the exclusive sketch created for subscribers by Creative Scrappers

Check This Out

Check out this exciting news from the Scraptures Blog - it is a great deal.

*****EXCITING NEWS*****

Well Ladies, you may not have noticed this yet but here at Scrap~tures,

we are constantly trying new and fun ideas to help keep you motivated and keep things fresh around here!

Well guess what?

Starting with our April Card Kit, we will be including a Copics Marker with every month's kit!! Since Copics seems to be where it's at in the stamping world these days, we thought we might as well jump on that band wagon.

So again, starting with our April kit we will be including a Copics marker in every month's kit. Also, since you apparently need more than one marker to properly do shading and blending and to use these markers to their full potential, we will be offering a Copics add-on that will include two coordinating shades of markers.

This will only be available to kit subscribers.
To help us kick off this new and improved card kit, we have asked Wendy (Wendance) who is a certified Copics instructor to help us by doing a month long Copics tutorial for the month of April! How about that?! the Copics Class will be posted here & in the forums for all to see.

To help celebrate our new card kits with the Copics, starting today (March 1st), we are doing a card kit promotion!

Sign up for a card kit subscription to start with the April kit and you will receive...

as always our card kits include enough supplies to create at least 5 cards and include 4 sheets of paper, 4 sheets of cardstock, a stamp set, an ink pot, 5 A-2 envelopes, embellishments and ribbon, a card technique item and now a coordinating Copics marker! A six month subscription price is $35.00 plus shipping and you get your 7th month free upon subscription renewal. You may also sign up for Copics add-ons for $10.00 which include two coordinating Copics.

That's not all!!

New subscribers will also receive a FREE gift with your April kit!

This is a very special gift!! I can't tell you what that gift is yet but you definitely don't want to miss out!! We will announce what it is once details have been confirmed.

So do not hesitate Ladies! Sign up for a card kit subscription today!!
